KFW-Effizienzhaus 70

Location: Kirchheim unter Teck | Germany
Architect: Tadeusz Bialon
Photographs & Retouching: Matthias Dengler

When renovating this semi-detached house from 1960, it was important for the building owners to give the building a new "face", but at the same time to preserve its character. At the same time, energetic and ecological aspects were central issues.

Domestic wood and Jurassic rock, such as those found in the quarries of the Swabian Jura, were combined with modern materials and technologies: accents made of trespa panels with a rust look define the house during the day. At night, the entire building is subtly illuminated thanks to hidden LED technology for individual design.

The result: a new identity with maximum energy efficiency.

- Technical details: heat pump heating (brine-water), photovoltaic system, hot water tank, ventilation system with heat recovery, curtain wall, roof insulation, cellar insulation.
