It was hard to get any meaningful client work done while in confinement with a toddler 😅 but on the flip side, we read a ton of art books together almost every single day. As daycares open, and as I can actually start getting some work done, I wanted to apply all that inspiration to kick-start the "I'm back to work" and refill the creative cup. This shoot I had done before covid-19 with the amazing @circusagustin was the perfect fit.
When I had met Agustin, we had discussed the concepts of self love and the similarities and differences with narcissism. His philosophical views were very interesting and this is my take on them.
The model was shot on the floor with an aluminum paper underneath to mimic reflections from water. It's shot with 3 light sources, one gelled yellow to get similar skin tones to the famous painting by Botticelli. The shell and the foreground of the water is from the Botticelli painting, but further back is digitally painted in Photoshop.
