This portrait is of the musician Joseph Julien. We wanted to create some portraits that were inspired by his album art. I love a moody dramatic portrait so I this concept and ran with it.
The key light is a strip box behind Joseph to camera right. I put an orange gel on this light. The album art has a lot of orange in it. I used an umbrella camera left feathering in to add some dimension to the shadows.
