Starting up my BFR (Big Friendly Robot). I'm a big fan of retro futuristic design and had a lot of fun creating my very own robot lab.
Most of what you see is CGI, out of focus foreground objects are photographs and the model was shot in the studio.
The great thing about CGI is that it allows me to create outrageous sets like this. Design them, build them, light them, add some haze, move things around, start lighting from scratch, move a wall around to manage reflections, just like you would in real life.
It's virtual but it's the closest I'll ever come to being a blockbuster movie director.
