Moonlight Water Lily

This is probably the most ridiculous effort I've ever gone to in order to capture an image. These lily pads were about 25 feet from the shore. I was waist deep in water, with my feet sunk in over a foot of lake bottom mud. The mosquitoes were ferocious and I knew the lake was home to two species of venomous snakes. Around here the water lilies typically only bloom for 3 to 5 days, opening during the day and closing at night. On rare occasion during a full moon they can remain open all night.
