Lately, I’ve really tried hard to focus on good lighting & pre-production work. If you know me or follow me, you know that I do a lot of post-production work. I really wanna slow down, get things right in camera, and focus on the photoshoot itself, not just fixing things in post. Everything needs to be right. I’m also really hoping to grow myself as a better photographer, not just digital artist. 2020 has been a great opportunity to learn & get back to the basics. With adding Cinema 4D to the portfolio just over the horizon, I can’t wait to see what 2021 will bring to the table!!!
For my main light, I used a @paulcbuffinc Einstein 640 flash unit w/ a 86” soft silver umbrella shot through an 8ft white scrim to create extra soft shadows. I used a white v-flat to fill in shadows & a black v-flat for my background. I love the old @molerichardson light that gave that old Hollywood look! It’s a continuous light so I had to use a tripod and lower my shutter speed to 1/10th of a sec. I used a fog machine to create some atmosphere & set the mood for this scene. Naturally, @emmaniess did a stunning job as always!
