It's been a while since I took a day trip to shoot something that was on my mind, but I wanted to do something with the clear night sky and this location. I didn't have high expectations but by some crazy luck, the milky way was lining up perfectly to the composition, and the moon started rising behind me, providing a perfect light source for the mountain. I decided to go for a composite however because of the strong lights from the pier and the house, so I took the sky and mountain shot from behind the house to get the most out of it while staying true to the composition and alignment.
