Under a Full Moon

As a child, I spent many afternoons looking in the woods and under rocks for new creatures; I loved the idea of seeing something that others had missed. I recently had that opportunity as an adult as I was out late one evening and found it; a mole cricket. It was huge, as wide as my hand. They are not a common sight, but it almost shocks you awake when you see one and for me, it inspired that childhood wonder again, something I feel when I continue to look at this macro photograph.
