Subtle Wedding Tribute to First Responder Couple

Over the years I have photographed many weddings where the bride, groom or both were some type of first responder. As a first responder myself I always try to pay tribute in any way I can. When I proposed my idea to the couple, they were excited at the possibility.

All of my clients (and 2nd photographers) know how excited I get when I am able to incorporate smoke grenades into a photo. When it comes to weddings, I only use white smoke due to fear of staining the wedding dress.

I placed (2) Yongnuo YN360 light wands on separate stands with one on constant red and the other on constant blue. The wands had to be close to the couple so it took some time to carefully position both so the wands were hidden.

Next it was time to deploy the 2nd photographer with the smoke grenade. Luckily there was minimal wind so it was easy to place the smoke around the couple.

Due to using constant light and not strobes, I was able to take several photos once the smoke was perfect.
