Another ICM favorite from my 'Streetwalker' series. This long exposure captures a colorful group as they navigate the streets of NYC during a rainstorm.
Ony one of us got wet.....
Update - this image was featured as part of a recent interview for the FRAMES magazine YouTube channel (@framesmagazine).

I always expect these types of images to cause a divide in opinion, but what I can't understand is how anyone could feel this is a snapshot.
If that person could contact me, I would love to hear your individual perspective and learn what others may find lacking in the image. I won't bite - I promise :-)
this is wonderful, looks like a painting.
Thanks Tony!
From perhaps a dreamer's perspective - Fantastic, Creative --- ART!
Thanks so much Frank.
It is really heartwarming to find another that shares your own vision. Positive feedback really does make a difference.........
I do some ICM of this style myself and appreciate how hard it is to get good results. More so than any other type of photography, there's a bit of luck combined with skill in crafting a photo. The act of moving the camera itself quickly or slowly, and for how long and at what shutter speed, all interact for surprising results. I find that I can shoot a couple hundred pictures and get maybe one or two that I really like. If I used that approach with a stationary landscape photo, you'd think I had no clue as to what I was doing. And you'd be right. Anyway I especially like this one. The colors are perfect, the composition is perfect, and the blur is just the right amount to convey the mood of an impressionist painting.
I would recommend ignoring the low score. Some people just see things differently. Some people have no ability to see beyond their own narrowly constructed viewpoint. You could post the Mona Lisa and some people would call it a snapshot. For what it's worth I scored your photo a five to offset the low score as best I could. Cheers.
Thanks for your kind feedback Ed.
It is really nice to hear from someone that has both an appreciation for the genre but an understanding of the effort that is put in to achieve results.
I am not concerned in the slightest about how some may perceive this type of work, as it is a very narrow niche. I value the validation received from those respected in the industry, and appreciate that others may have differing pinions.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your ICM work in your portfolio, consider checking out the Minimalism/Abstract/Experimental member group if you are looking for an active group in which to discuss such work.
I show some of it on my website, some of which is nature and more abstract (impressionist), the other category being people (ghosts) downtown...

Thanks Ed, you have a lot of great work on there.
