I found this location because of serendipitous misfortune. I had intended to catch a sunrise at the spot at Schwabacher's Landing in Grand Teton that has the iconic composition you often see. Upon my pre-dawn arrival, I found a forest of tripods and no room to stand.
I started walking further north along the backwater and eventually found this place. I have photographed it time and again and like this particular shot the best.
Mount Moran is on the right, the main reflection is Mount Owen, and Tewinot Peak and the Grand Teton are regrettably obscured by the tall trees on the left.
