Julian Alps Night Sky

Driving and exploring around in the mountains of Triglav National Park, we stopped in a place called Vršič Pass (1611m). Beautiful view and mountains around I used the daytime opportunity to scout the location a bit. Night photography and the Milky Way thoughts in my mind. With the help of Photopills I found out that The Milky Way was in a favourable spot during nighttime. Therefore after a couple of days I was back. Had to drive about 1000m elevation uphill to arrive to Vršič Pass again. In the parking lot I met other night photography enthusiast from Germany. He was driving around with his motorbike and also explored Slovenia. We talked about night photography and shared our experiences and just chatted overall. It’s really cool to meet photographers from other parts of the world and share some stories together. During the twilight I found these nice flowers to use as my foreground for the shot. During one point clouds started to roll in but luckily the sky cleared up again and I got the shot I was looking for.
