This barn sunset capture is an homage to my rural youth. Growing up in rural Iowa and watching the sun meld into the earth from a 360-degree horizon advantage provided a beautiful perspective. It also launched my love of photography, beginning with a Kodak X15. In high school, I began exploring the wonderful world of SLR cameras with a Yashica TL Electro X and interchangeable lenses. That wise investment and love of lifelong learning launched a successful and award-winning 40+ year career in photojournalism.
