Fireflies and Starry Skies

I was recently on a camping trip along the New River in the mountains of North Carolina. I do this trip every year but it's the first time we've done it in June. We didn't even think about it being firefly season. Once it got dark thousands of fireflies lit up the night. I wish the clouds would have stayed away for the sake of my star trails.

I used 150 photos to add in all the fireflies and make the star trails.

Kyle, WOW! amazing ! I guest the saying is true the more you look the more you see, is true with lens, too ;).
I did a little research since your last firefly image ... lots of difference species of fireflies all with distinct flash patterns, although individual flashes seem to ha a duration of about 1 sec. seem like you nailed that on your foreground setting. Good job, keep shooting and taking your gear and imagination to their limits.

Thanks Paul! Yes, I believe here in NC we have synchronous fire flies and blue ghost fireflies. I think the blue ghost have a much longer flash allowing for some cool yellow streaks. These must be the synchronous type because they only flash for basically less than a second.
