Gásadalur

I first visited the small village of Gásadalur in the Faroe Islands some twenty years ago, when it was accessible only by boat or by walking over the surrounding mountains. In 2004, a tunnel was built, connecting Gásadalur to the main infrastructure and allowing people to visit the picturesque village in the comfort of a car or bus.
