Caper Hatteras - OBX

This lighthouse has a lot of rich history. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse now sits over half a mile from it's original location. On this morning I started early just outside Nags Head. Covering OBX lighthouses was my intent, starting out with Bodie Island Lighthouse and working my way down. Buxton is a special place. I can say I have been to the end of the earth. Located on the outmost point of North Carolina's Outer Banks is the small community of Hatteras Island and it is a national treasure. I photograph what I love. And OBX lighthouses are no exception to that rule. For me the photos are the bonus, because it's all about the adventure.

Loving all of your recent black and white lighthouse shots. But this one is really awesome!

I remember when they moved it as well. I was lucky enough to climb it in it's original location. Hatteras/Buxton is one of my favorite places on Earth and it really is like you are at the end of the world. I used to live in Kill Devil Hills when I was a child. Some of my earliest memories are from being a kid out there. I miss it tremendously. It's been a few years now since my last trip to the OBX. I really need to get back out there. Winter is such a great time of year out there as well. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Kyle! OBX is a special place for sure. I mostly do winter trips so I don't have a lot of people to work around. I haven't had much camera time lately, so putting time into edits it is. I love doing the moody back and white edits. It takes a bit of time but the outcome is well worth it.

Bryan, super black & white!

Thanks Paul!
