A chance photo. After a long day in rural north east NC, I stopped by Washington waterfront on the way home. It was a long drive. The sky was amazing and I already knew the shot I wanted. Cloud cover was spotty with the light but once I was in position it happened. The sky opened and the evening light pored onto the subject I was focused on. It was only for a moment but I got the shot I had envisioned. After that I headed home for a much needed rest. The point is that I didn't feel like stopping but my drive for shots like this wouldn't let me pass it up. It's hard work and I don't always feel like taking the extra time. But I am glad I did. That time was just a moment, but the photo is forever.
