Black and white photo of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Located on North Carolina's Outer Banks, OBX. The photo was taken mid morning just before the start of the renovation in early 2024. The lighthouse is currently covered in scaffolding and she's getting a fresh coat of paint. Hatteras lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in the US and second tallest brick lighthouse in the world. She now sits about 2,900 feet from her original location. In 1999, due to beach erosion this lighthouse was moved to it's current location. There is a lot of rich history here as she has watched over "The Graveyard of the Atlantic" for over 2 centuries.
