Modern technology in Spoleto

Spoleto is an Italian city in the region of Umbria. The city has 36,467 inhabitants and is located in the province of Perugia. The size of the urban area is 349 km², making Spoleto one of the largest municipalities in Umbria in terms of area.

Spoleto is situated on a slope and it is terribly tiring to walk up to the castle, at least in summer in the heat. The eternally long escalator, on the other hand, is super comfortable and even older people can easily get to the cathedral or the fortress.
The escalator is free of charge, but you should be careful where you park your car, because the traffic wardens of Spoleto will really hit you if you don't park in a parking lot intended for tourists.
The escalator can also be used downhill, but it is nicer to walk through the alleyways and streets of Spoleto.
