Isaiah

A portrait of Isaiah.

I like to shoot with a 50mm lens on most occasions and find it to be a great focal length for close up portraits as well as a full length shot like this. I simply move my feet to find the best angles, and often I leave my lighting gear in the shot, as I did here. I think it gives a cinematic vibe, like the subject is on set in between takes.

I used continuous lights, and set a lower color temperature on the background light in order to create a warm streak of light (3000K). My key (beauty dish) and fill (an umbrella right behind camera) were set to 5600K. The image was edited in Affinity Photo where I tweaked the color just a bit.
