It's about 6:30 in the morning, and a bunch of cowboys from around Gardendale, Texas are riding towards the end of this days pasture, to round up the calves that need to be branded and vaccinated. First they gallop from one end to the other, so they know where the cattle is. When they reach the fence, they turn around, spread out and round up all the cattle in the pasture.
This is part of a bigger series I did in West Texas about the cowboy way of life, including working, rodeos and family. I earned my bachelor degree in photojournalism, and the Scanpix-award for best photojournalistic bachelor project 2015 for the series.
Seriously one of the coolest lifestyle shots I've seen in a while! Awesome work!
Thank you so much Remus. That's probably the first time I've heard one of my pictures described as a "lifestyle shot" :-) To me it's just a very pretty reportage image. But that's the fun of showing the work to people who are not photojournalists ;)
amazing
