Do you think your editing skills can match the pros? Check out these five masking techniques that the pros use in Photoshop to see if you're as skilled as you think you might be.
AI is the talk of the town at the moment, and rightly so. It's a topical issue for very good reason: it has the potential to seismically shift the photographic landscape and force us to reassess how we approach our craft. However, after playing around with AI for a couple of weeks and looking at all the different forums and opinions out there, I think it's fair to say that it's still a little way from completely taking over, if it ever does. In the meantime, the best way to lift yourself above your competitors, in my opinion, is still through post-production tools like Lightroom and Photoshop.
And that brings us to this great video by Jesus Ramirez from The Photoshop Training Channel, in which he runs us through five different masking methods that the pros use to get better results than the average amateur. Ramirez is a featured teacher in Adobe's own tutorials section and also makes posters for Hollywood productions, so he knows what he's doing. In this video, he runs through techniques such as: using the Minimum filter, vector masks from selections, custom brushes for masking, channel-based masking, and knockout group masking. You mightknow one or two of these methods, but perhaps not all of them. Give the video a look, and let me know your thoughts.
Learned something new. Thanks for sharing!
Enough with "the pros use". It's making this sites titles just ridiculous as it's overused - for some reason in almost every other article now.
Pretty sure it's being done for SEO purposes to go after a certain segment for ads or whatever. But it's also used on tips about basic edits.
Cmon guys.
Enough with the whining. You do realize there's about 50 articles on the first page and only 2...yes, 2 as in two, with "the pros use". So, relax.
Well sorry for you, however I'm calling it out. It's trolling, immature headlines that this site doesn't need.
Feel free to disagree but you're not going to tell me not to complain.
.. "amatuers never use this!".
Its bad enough many of the posts simply point to videos. There's some established, talented photogs here that makes posts every once in awhile that are definitely very good - so it's just so odd to see every other day in my news feed, these trolling baiting headlines. It's very out of place. It seems to be a recent phenomenon.
Many sites do these type of trolling titles for the sake of SEO. It's pretty blatant and it always looks bad, because it looks so desperate.
If that ruffles your feathers I don't know maybe don't read it. There is no bad intention or malice in my comment.
"...you're not going to tell me not to complain."
"If that ruffles your feathers I don't know maybe don't read it."
So... it's OK for you to whine about the headlines in a comment but your advice is for others not to whine about your whining and to just quietly skip on past.
See the logic problem there? Two solutions: 1) take your own advice and "don't read it" OR 2) don't tell others not to complain if you feel they can't tell you not to complain.
Now... as to the point made, clickbait headlines don't bother me in the slightest. How else does website with free content attract readers? On the contrary, I find them quite amusing. I ain't a pro and there ain't one of these methods I didn't already know about. So maybe I am a pro!
--- ”It's trolling, immature headlines"
The only thing trolling and immature is you. You are no doubt a grown man, but, act a like a bratty 12 year old girl stomping her feet. Stop that.

Stop self triggering and find a solution. I just gave you one. You are welcome.
