Coming to you from Aaron Nace with Phlearn, this great video tutorial will show you how to quickly and easily add a touch of shine to skin using Photoshop. This can be a great way to add a bit of glow and radiance to skin, and it can really enhance a portrait in the right circumstances. Just like any sort of post-processing technique that involves modifying skin, however, in general, a subtle touch is the best way to go about things to avoid it becoming too artificial-looking or gaudy.
