Tips for Using Space at Home for Creating Photographs

Set up photo shoots at home, as in inside your house? Yes, it really is something you should consider doing and here are several excellent tips for how to go about doing it.

Maybe you're on a tight budget, or rather, perhaps your client is on a tight budget and you're trying to help cut down on studio costs. Perhaps you're just on the lookout for a new challenge and you want to try something different. Regardless of the initial motive, taking the initiative to work within the space at home can be incredibly rewarding as well as a whole lot of fun.

Coming to you from Lucy Martin and Lizzie Peirce, this quick tutorial and demonstration on how to utilize your home space is packed full of some great tips and ideas. When I watched it, my absolute favorite thing wasn't necessarily any specific shot that they set up but rather the way they talked about looking at the space. Seeing things not as the regular objects that you've gotten used to seeing simply because you live there, but rather a photographic backdrop of things that you know very well and can therefore put to use in ways that nobody else can. They make some excellent points about the importance of shooting for your edit, understanding that the image creation goes beyond the push of the shutter and continues into the post-processing for creating the final image.
