My first Canon L lens was the EF 135mm f/2L, and it has remained one of my favorite options for over a decade. Such lenses offer a bit more telephoto compression that can be more flattering on some facial features and stronger subject isolation, as long as you can handle the longer working distance (be careful if you work in a studio). And as part of the respected G Master series, you can expect top-shelf performance from Sony's version, with a variety of elements and coatings that bring less distortion, better sharpness, and deeper contrast.
