While the first version of this lens offered impressive image quality for the price, the autofocus performance was a bit temperamental. It looks like Samyang has remedied that in this second iteration while maintaining that image quality. Meanwhile, at $799, the Samyang is arguably one of the most competitively priced lenses on the market, particularly when one considers the fact that many 85mm f/1.4 lenses cost around $1,500 or even north of $2,000.
