A Review of the New Elinchrom ONE Battery-Powered Monolight

The new Elinchrom ONE is the company's latest monolight, offering a rechargeable battery that makes it portable and versatile whether you are working in the studio or on location. This great video review takes a look at the light and the sort of performance you can expect from it in real-world usage.

Coming to you from John Gress, this awesome video review takes a look at the new Elinchrom ONE battery-powered monolight. With an internal lithium-ion battery capable of up to 725 full-power flashes and a 100-minute charging time, the ONE has plenty of capacity to last through a demanding shoot, helped by its quick recycling time of 0.06 to 0.9 seconds. It offers up to 131 Ws of flash power as well a 20-watt LED modeling lamp with both full and proportional settings. Further features include High Speed Sync up to 1/8,000 of a second, built-in wireless 20-channel receiver, Bluetooth, USB-C charging (with the ability to shoot while charging), a touch interface, unconcealed flash tube for full light spread, and native compatibility with both the traditional Elinchrom bayonet and Profoto modifiers. Furthermore, at 3.3 lbs, the ONE is rather portable. Altogether, the ONE looks like a versatile, useful light. Check out the video above for Gress' full thoughts.

It comes with the necessary adapter.

Kind of a confusing product if you ask me.
No swappable battery.
Under powered
Only slightly more exposed flashtube than profotos
Half the price of a B10
3x the price of an AD200
Profoto native mount adapts to elinchrom

Not really sure who this is targeted to.

131 ws is a joke

absolutely amazing~!! ,,,, a battery powered 100+ watts, Profoto and Elilnchrom portable strobe with LED! ... really ...new? new for them. Elinchrom in this range of products is on the same path as Bowens ... too little to late and way to expensive!

Alex, does every video have to be Great or Awesome? It's a standard video review nothing great, or awesome. What superlatives do you have left to describe above average content?
It's tiresome enough that all fstopper content is video. Oh for the days when I could sit with a cup of coffee and read an article instead of having to find a quiet place where I won't disturb people with pointless ego driven videos.
Modern life I guess! But please stop using clickbait adjectives.

A GODOX light is cheaper. WE KNOW.

(I figure let's just get that comment out of the way already so we can move on to a proper discussion).

Interesting...Profoto Mount. Will a Profoto trigger work?

I've been using Elinchrom strobes since about 2007 (Four 600RX and two 1200RX) for my studio work and they still not only work perfectly, their color consistency has not wavered in the least even during all day shoots where 1500-1600 images are taken. Start to finish, they're great. I've never lived by the motto "I'll fix it in post" and never will. These new Elinchroms' are underpowered for my needs but I can see where they would come in handy for many uses. One of the many things I learned years ago while working as an assistant was that too much power can be dialed down. Not enough power means you're screwed.

Good for Godox bringing to market at their price point but its already been reported that their color consistency over time is horrible at best. Also, on the rare occasion that I have to speak to the US Elinchrom operation, I can. Godox's only "support" are their dealers. That may work for some, but not me.

I bought my first Elinchrom stoves more then 40 years ago. I also bought the ELB 400 some years ago, but I switched to Godox. Later they released ELB500 and now this ONE.
Both these are putting Elinchrom up to speed compared to Godox and Profoto.
Probably ELB500 is the most robust and heat resistant battery kit you can get.
I am happy to see they are catching up and 900 usd is a lot, but not compared to Profoto or Bron.
Still Godox is doing the same job for much less. Color temperature migh change a little on low power level, but it’s a myth that Godox iOS less then others. Even a speed light is +-20 kelvin and a 1/10 of a stop exposure. Godox is great and there Peo strobes are up with Profoto and Bron :)

I read that to. I think it’s something they should/would fix.
