A Review of the New Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens

The Sigma Art Series has earned a reputation for impressively sharp lenses that offer loads of image quality at prices that often significantly undercut those of equivalent first-party options. One such lens in the lineup is the 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art, and this excellent video review takes a look at it and the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Alex Barrera, this great video review takes a look at the 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lens. 24mm f/1.4 lenses are useful for a huge array of situations and applications, as they offer a wide angle of view, but not so wide that significant distortion or compositional difficulties come into play, making them great for anything from night landscapes to events coverage. Sigma's version comes with a variety of useful features, including:

  • Mounts: Sony E, Leica L
  • 17 elements in 14 groups
  • Two FLD elements, one SLD element, and four aspherical elements for reduced distortion and increased sharpness
  • Manual focus lock and aperture ring lock
  • Focus mode switch
  • Customizable button
  • Super Multi-Layer Coating and Nano Porous Coating
  • 11-blade rounded diaphragm for smoother bokeh
  • Rear filter mount
  • Dust- and splash-resistant construction
  • Water- and oil-repellent coating

Check out the video above for Barrera's full thoughts on the lens.
