A Review of the Viltrox AF 28mm f/1.8 Lens

Viltrox has been a company on the rise in recent years, establishing a reputation for lenses whose performance and image quality often far exceed what one would expect for their affordable prices. The AF 28mm f/1.8 lens offers a popular alternative focal length in tandem with a wide maximum aperture, again at a competitive price, and this excellent video review takes a look at if it will be another hit for the company.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this great video review takes a look at the Viltrox AF 28mm f/1.8 for Nikon Z and Sony E full frame mirrorless cameras. At just $379, this is a great option for anyone who wants a nice focal length in between 24mm and 35mm. With a solid metal construction, good sharpness and contrast, and smooth, it is looks like a very versatile option for a lot of applications. There are some issues with distortion and vignetting, but it seems most of those can be corrected in camera or post-processing, and when you consider its price, it looks another excellent deal from Viltrox, keeping a lot of pressure on other companies to innovate and compete. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Frost.

Will Canon some day open their RF mount to lens like this?
It could be good almost for their aps-c cameras...
