There’s always room in your gear bag for a 360 camera to help you document what you do. What’s even better is that now, you have highly evolved tech and multiple options for it.
360 cameras have greatly evolved in the past few years and have become so easy to use. For anyone who does anything worth filming, a 360 camera is a convenient way to record behind-the-scenes or perspective videos that take your viewer along with you. Insta360 has been pretty much unopposed for the longest time until DJI finally decided to join the 360 game.
As a photographer, it was a late realization for me that with a 360 camera mounted onto a pole on the side of my bag or connected to one of the accessory ports of my tripod, I can record behind-the-scenes videos and even explainer videos right as I am shooting. With the right camera height and just a little bit of distance, the 360 camera’s stitching algorithm can make the footage look like it was being filmed by a separate person even as you move around.
In this video, we’ll talk about the Insta360 X5 and the DJI Osmo 360, their physical differences, the specifications of each camera, as well as their implications on how they can fit your workflow regardless of what it is that you will be filming.
