Jan Wasserbauer

I’m Jan Wasserbauer, founder and photographer behind JanWphotography, a Prague-based photography studio.

I have been working as a photographer for more than 20 years and have photographed people from more than 100 nationalities. My work includes individual portraits, business and executive photography, personal branding, actor and casting portraits, lifestyle and fashion photography, boudoir, fine art nudes, couples, maternity and family photography.

What interests me most is creating photographs that reflect the person in front of the camera rather than forcing them into a predefined visual formula. I look for personality, character and individuality. Depending on the subject, purpose and atmosphere, the result can be minimalist, natural, elegant or more visually dramatic, but it should always remain personal and authentic.

A large part of my work is with people who are not used to being photographed. Communication, trust and guidance are therefore an important part of the process. I prefer to give people enough time to become comfortable in front of the camera and to develop the session naturally rather than rushing towards a predetermined result.

Alongside private clients, I work with entrepreneurs, managers, actors, artists and other professionals, as well as companies that need photography for management, teams, personal branding or wider corporate communication. The aim is not simply to create technically polished images, but photographs that are visually distinctive and appropriate to the person, purpose and context in which they will be used.

I work both in my studio in central Prague and on location, with private and corporate clients from around the world.
