I shot portrait/wedding/engagement professionally for 18 years until I moved back to Colorado. Now I am shooting for myself and enjoying being able to shoot where I find myself. (Semi-Retirement-Retirement is pretty nice). I believe you challenge yourself in going to the locations everyone else finds mundane or "ugly", or shooting the common in a different look; making it appear completely different than someone has seen in the past. I still shoot some portraits or models that are willing to just do something different.

Black and white, printing in alternative print processes... keeping my hands in traditional photography keeps me going. I enjoy shooting digital but I haven't stopped shooting film since 77. Shooting film keeps me honest when I pick up a digital camera.
