[Video] A Dynamically Lit Elegiac Nighttime Short (a must see!)

Fashion photographer and filmmaker Jacob Sutton teams up with Artec pro snowboarder William Hughes and designer John Spatcher, to make this stunning short that features a very unique light source, an LED suit. Just picture it, a lone surfer illuminating his way down the slopes of Tignes in the Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France, captured on a Red Epic camera. Can't? You don't have to. Just watch!

"I was really drawn to the idea of a lone character made of light surfing through darkness. I've always been excited by unusual ways of lighting things, so it seemed like an exciting idea to make the subject of the film the only light source."-Jacob Sutton-

"Filming in the suit was the most surreal thing I've done in 20 years of snowboarding. Luckily there was plenty of vin rouge to keep me warm, and Jacob's enthusiasm kept everyone going through the cold nights."-William Hughes-

For the record, they shot this footage in temperatures of -25C. That's -13F for you irrationally stubborn types. I'm looking at you America. ;)

Fantastic.
Fascinating.
Surreal.
LOVE IT !!

So different - so original. Great idea.

Don't like the editing, and I think this project would look even more awesome as photographs.

 jeez, cant please everyone!

I think the novelty here though is the fact that it is video - this would be much easier to achieve as stills with some clever lighting, but is really unusual as video.

Different, something "new" in world where so much have been tried - I like! :)

I like it very much

This is so rad on so many levels. I love people just trying new things. I saw a cool surf video similar to this not too long ago too. I love it. We need to try these sort of things and get out of our routines in order to keep progressing. These guys are doing just that.

amazing... but 480p? really? :)

Check out this LED man snowboarding in dark -- it musta been hard for him to see
