[BTS] Behind The Scenes Photos of Iconic 'Star Wars' Scenes

We recently came across this collection of behind-the-scenes photographs from the filming of the original Star Wars trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi). To see Sir Alec Guinness working on his tan in a pair of oversize sunglasses, Chewbacca unmasked, and Carrie Fischer about to get intimate with C-3PO, check this out!

As a huge Star Wars fan, I found these images to be very interesting. It never hurts to be reminded of the ingenuity that went into making these classics; instead of CGI, there were miniatures or costumes, and they even went to real locations to film, without a hint of greenscreen. My favorite image, however, has to be Luke hanging off of the weathervane in the shaft at Bespin, with what appears to be about fifty mattresses directly below. With some clever editing and framing, they pulled off one of the most iconic moments in film history without the audience ever second-guessing how it was shot.
