First looks on wedding days have always been a magical thing. Usually, they are reserved for the father of the bride or the groom. One bride decided she wanted one for her brother, and the results were beautiful.
Seeing loved ones' faces full of true joy and surprise is a popular moment that is often requested by couples planning out the shots they want of their big day. Photographer Kelsey Watroba from Silver Creek, NY captured photos of bride Ashley and her little brother, Nick. Nick is three years younger than his sister and has Down Syndrome, but more importantly, the siblings are each other's best friends.
I was drawn to this story right away since my big sister has Down Syndrome, and I understand the strong family bond growing up with special needs of any kind can form. People with Down Syndrome are capable of so much more than most realize. I have spent a lot of time enjoying the company of wonderful humans facing challenges the more fortunate never really understand. Ashley and her brother should be proud of the well-deserved recognition and reaction to their beautiful moment.
Her brother's words upon seeing his sister were perfect:
You are the most beautiful person in the world. You are indescribable.
The viral Facebook post received over 27,000 likes, 14,000 shares, and over 800 comments. It doesn't take long to see why the post and the photos became so popular so quickly; the happiness they share is perfectly captured in the most genuine way. The photographer said it was good the big body of the camera was able to hide her own tears.

That’s gonna be a no for me dog. What pops up after trying to click on an image.
Just don't allow it. You can still look at the site.
When I did it just didn’t proceed.
Sorry, Rob. A good reminder for me to get some images uploaded next time and not rely all on the Facebook embed.
