Learn How To Light: 32 City Speed Light Tour!

No matter where you are in your photographic journey, one thing is certain:  you need to know how to manipulate light.  The team over at Monte Zucker  Education have put together an interesting speed light tour featuring pro Canon shooters Bob Davis and Stephen Eastwood.  The Need Light? Speedlite! Tour starts March 9th and hits 32 cities throughout the US.  If you have never used off camera lighting or are looking for unique ways to add excitement to your photographs, this workshop is definitely worth checking out.

After watching the above video, it's quite clear that Bob and Stephen are not only great teachers but they also make learning fun and interesting.  Bob Davis started out shooting weddings out of the Chicago area and wound up working with well known celebrities including shooting Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's wedding.  Stephen on the other hand started off modeling and then switched gears into becoming a fashion and commercial photographer in NYC.  Together they provide two different approaches to lighting which can be catered towards any genre of photography.

The Workshops

daniella battistiniThe duo’s program of the Need Light? Speedlite!  Tour consists of two parts. The daytime workshop alternates between the two instructors as they break down their tested lighting methods and theories equipped with cutting edge gear along alternates for the same high end gear. Using live models they will demonstrate their approach to light and photography. After a robust 6-hour class all participants will have the opportunity to participate in a free two hour live shoot, where they get to put their newly acquired skills to use. Photographing four models in four different shooting bays (including Venezuelan professional model Daniella Battistini), attendees will not only test what they have learned but also will get a chance to create beautiful imagery for their own portfolios.

Masterclass

stephen eastwoodThe second half is a 3 ½ hour evening masterclass reserved for any one that wants to take a deeper approach to photography with speedlights. Coached by Bob and Stephen themselves, participants will get a truly hands on experience in a limited class size setting that ensures that each student gets personalized critique and attention. Students can alter lighting set-ups, modify speedlights, and perfect their own shooting styles.

Why is he wearing sunglasses indoors?

That is his image, he is known for that

Time traveler from 90's :D ... no I like him he remind me guys from music video "Mother lover" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0DeIqJm4vM

Love these two guys, They take amazing gorgeous photographs..Curious are they shooting manual or ettl seeing that they are using all Canon 600 flashes?

I met Bob Davis at the flight gate in DC when he was wrapping up the logistics meeting for this very workshop. Even though it was the crack of dawn and we were both tired, he was a cool guy and we had a nice conversation about how we love what we do, but few understand the unglamorous, plain hard work side of it.

Bob's got a real expert understanding using these flashes on-location and getting great light and executing creative ideas FAST.

thats nice to know

looks cool, i might sign up for the atl class

Hi...I keep trying to sign up for this class but the web site isn't working...Do you know if it is just down or are the classes canceled?
