[Video] Powerful Slow-Mo Video Shot On $500 DSLR

slow it down excerpt [Video] Powerful Slow Mo Video Shot On $500 DSLR We’ve featured slow motion videos before, and this one is right up there with the best in terms of it’s motion rendering. Shooting with a $500 Canon 550D/T2i, Sacha Powell put together this powerful video using Twixtor to slow down some of his shots. It really goes to show that you don’t need the most expensive gear to make amazing visuals. You’ll want to watch this fullscreen.

According to Sacha’s Vimeo page, he shot this piece using only three lenses; the Canon 50mm 1.8, the 18-55 kit lens, and a Sigma 70-300 Zoom. All relatively cheap lenses, but the results speak for themselves.

Here is a post from about a year ago that has a couple more videos, as well as some information on Twixtor. Here is a link to a decent Twixtor tutorial if you’re looking for some more information on that plugin.

I wonder if you could use Twixtor to fake bullet time…

Would the video have been half as interesting with the artist’s original music? Oh wait, just use someone else’s.  That’s easier.
