Take the flexibility and straightforward user experience of a 360 camera and combine it with the nearly unlimited capabilities of a drone—that’s what the Antigravity A1 aims to offer creators who want to show their audiences a totally different perspective.

Antigravity has officially launched the A1, which they first announced back in July, with features that were totally unexpected. The Antigravity A1 is the first 8K 360 drone designed for an immersive flight experience that puts intuitive controls first, while the 360-degree capture makes the footage fully adjustable post-flight, giving options for framing, movement, and stabilization on a totally different level.

Unique Flight Experience

Instead of a remote with a screen or smartphone, the A1 comes with Vision Goggles equipped with dual 1-inch micro-OLED displays and a grip controller that makes flying the drone immersive. FreeMotion mode allows the user to steer by merely pointing the controller, as it turns the user’s hand movements into flight paths. For more advanced users, FPV mode offers full maneuvering control that can translate to more dynamic motion and footage. For casual users, the Sky Genie feature offers automated piloting maneuvers such as orbit, spiral, and comet with a single tap, making a first-time user capable of flying and filming safely at all times. The Sky Path system even allows the user to pre-plan the flight path, enabling the drone to fly autonomously without the user touching the controls. This makes it possible for the user(s) to sit back and enjoy the view that the goggles offer while filming what the 360 cameras see.

The Antigravity A1 is equipped with dual 1/1.28-inch cameras that can record up to 8K at 30 fps in 360 degrees. After the flight, the user can simply reframe the footage to ensure smooth motion and stability while never missing a desired view. Much like a 360 camera, it also offers automated reframing options such as tracking, panning, and creative effects like Tiny Planet video.

Compact Foldable Form

  • The drone itself weighs 249 grams with the standard battery and fits within a regular-sized palm.
  • It offers 24 minutes of uninterrupted flight and can be extended to 39 minutes with an optional higher-capacity battery.
  • Like the Insta360 X5, it comes with user-replaceable lenses as well as user-replaceable propellers that make the most susceptible parts easy to change for less turnaround time and fewer interruptions.

The Antigravity A1 is now available in three different bundles, starting at $1,599.
