10 Tips to Improve Your Wildlife Images

Capturing good wildlife images can be a thrill, but it takes a lot of good technique, knowledge of how animals behave, and more. If you have been struggling with your own images a bit, this excellent video tutorial will give you 10 helpful tips that will help you take your photos to the next level.

Coming to you from Stefan Malloch, this great video tutorial discusses 10 tips to help you improve your wildlife photos. While there are a lot of useful tips in the video, one that particularly resonated with me was the importance of simply being patient. I am the type of person who likes to always be moving, finding a new angle or composition, and searching for action. That sort of approach works well for a lot of the genres I shoot, but when it comes to wildlife, patience is the name of the game for quite a few reasons. A lot of wild animals are quite skittish and will run at the slightest provocation, so, of course, it takes some time to establish yourself as a non-threatening presence in their environment. Beyond that, though, spending that time observing the animals of interest will help you to better learn their behavioral patterns, which will increase your chances of getting a keeper. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Malloch.
