Photographing Orca And Puffins in Shetland

In this video, join Scottish photographer Adam Russell from The Nonsense Adventures as he visits the Shetland Islands off Scotland in search of some of the UK's amazing wildlife, which includes Orca, Puffins, and a Basking Shark.

This year, the BBC launched their brand-new series Wild Isles, narrated by David Attenborough. In this video, we can see the BBC film crew follow the pod of Orcas from a different perspective as Adam captures some great footage and photos of these stunning marine predators.

There are many pods of Orcas and other cetaceans that visit Scotland year-round, which many people, even in the UK, don't expect at all or are completely unaware of. The waters around the British Isles are very rich in diversity, and long may this continue.

Adam was also fortunate to capture a great photo of multi-award-winning photographer Henley Spiers up close and personal with an Orca that was only meters away. Adam explains how this image went semi-viral on the Shetland Islands in his usual comedic ways if you have followed his work before.

As Puffins are now returning to land to breed for the summer, this video serves as great inspiration to photograph these iconic and colorful birds. Shetland is a stronghold of both Puffins and Orca, so it is a must-visit location for anyone wanting an opportunity to see and photograph both of these species. I hope this video inspires you to find these animals and also to just have fun.
