Please Support POV "Hardcore" NSFW

It seems like everyone is asking for money these days. The guy starting a fundraiser for his UBER ride home from the bar to the model wanting to start a photography career by creating a GoFundMe page asking fans to buy her a $2500 camera. With campaigns like these going around, it's sometimes discouraging to donate to some of today's fundraisers for creative projects...until today. Behold the movie awesome POV "Hardcore", which has already been filmed, but needs some additional funds to finish post production. Learn more below.

According to their IndieGoGo page: "HARDCORE is a modern, action Sci-Fi story about HENRY, a newly resurrected cyborg who must save his wife/creator ESTELLE (Haley Bennet) from the clutches of a psychotic tyrant with telekinetic powers, AKAN (Danila Kozlovsky), and his army of mercenaries.  Fighting alongside Henry is JIMMY (Sharlto Copley), who is Henry's only hope to make it through the day. Hardcore takes place over the course of one day, in Moscow, Russia and it's all shot in the same style as BAD MOTHERFUCKER to be released in cinemas worldwide."

Ok take my money! This is amazing and how cool is it that Sharlto Copley (A-Team, District 9, Elysium) co-stars in this film? Also, I definitely would love to test drive their custom POV camera system (see below), but with the new GoPro 4's installed.

The entire film was made with their custom POV GoPro camera rig. I want one!

This film may seem familiar if you're a veteran of youtube action films. The director of "Hardcore", Ilya Naishuller, also created the popular POV short film "Bad Motherfucker" where a free-running action hero is being chased by suit-wearing and heavily armed Russian henchmen. It was actually that film that made "Hardcore" possible. According to their fundraising page:

It got over 40M views, and thousands of messages and comments from people saying things like ‘this is awesome’, ‘I can’t wait for a feature like this!’, ‘make more of this please!’. Among those people was Timur Bekmambetov, the director of the ‘Night Watch ’ series and ‘Wanted ’.

He proposed to produce a feature length version shot in the same POV style and have me direct it. Even though I've been eagerly awaiting a shot at directing a feature, at first I turned him down, believing that it was a gimmicky idea that couldn't possibly work on the big screen.

Timur's reply was "Don't you want to see a POV film in a cinema?"

I said "Yes."

"Well then, think about it. If anyone can make this work, it's you."

That sentence kicked me into gear and within a week, the concept for what was to become the world's first action adventure film was born. Now, a year and a half later, we've got it shot and edited. It's called Hardcore, and it's one hell of an experience.

The film has already been shot. They just need money to finish post production. This is how they'd spend the additional funds.

I think this awesome but it would be fun to watch for about 15 minuets but after that I feel I would get motion sick from all the jaring movement, just my opinion. Great idea though. Also Freddiew and CorridorDigital have done stuff like this maybe not as epic but it is not the first time this has been done before.

Is it a gimmick? Probably. If anyone can do it its this guy though as he has the track record to prove it. Plus I feel like it will be a fun ride to watch. Maybe the not next cinematic masterpiece but surely its something that should be tried. Plus I feel the story fits well for what might end up as a fun to watch mindless action movie.

Well, after watching the videos, I went ahead and donated to support it. I think it looks great and will be very well done.

This is actually quite interesting. It seems film makers, both amateur and professional are turning to GoPro (mainly) action cams to add a sense of realism to productions. Here's another great example, "Superman Uses GoPro" - http://personalactioncams.com/superman-uses-gopro/
