How to Book More Photo and Video Clients

You can watch endless videos about lens reviews and Instagram for photographers on YouTube. Very few channels offer business advice that moves the needle for photographers.

That's why I made a video that speaks on the how behind presenting your pricing for photoshoots. Videographers, you are not exempt from this! Take note, and I hope it serves you as well as it serves my business.

Many times, we think it's just about the price-point for photographers. While that's an important part of the equation, you must factor in several other ingredients to a successful business. In this video, I share several proven methods that will dramatically increase your bookings.

  • Don't Corner: Imagine cornering an animal, a child, or an adult. You won't like it, and it produces a sense of resentment for the person putting you in the corner. Now imagine cornering your clients with one price option. It's this price or it's nothing! Do you want it? Imagine how much more receptive the potential client would be if they hadn't felt cornered into a decision. Imagine how many more hirings you would enjoy if the client felt they had a choice. It's psychological, and it's not always about the number.

  • Walk Into Their Homes/Offices: Insane, right?! It's actually not, and here is why. If I were to welcome someone into my home or my office, I have a closer bond to them. I trust them more and am willing to have a conversation with them. It comes down to trust. I'm not suggesting you actually walk into their homes. There are digital ways to insert yourself in there.

Here is an example of me sharing a mood board with a new client. Do you see me in the bottom left corner? I'm walking her through the entire board and giving 100% for her. She gets to hear me talking about the vision and see the enthusiasm.

Since she clicked the link and allowed the video to play in full, I had permission to enter her home. I was able to get my message across to her, and she was able to sit comfortably on her couch. I'm not going to allow the client to fill in the blanks and jump to conclusions on my creative board. I will walk you through it, and this is an instant win for you and for them. Mark my words, you will stand out from the pool of contenders.
