Patreon and Casey Neistat Meet to Discuss a Business Model

The founder and CEO of Patreon, Jack Conte, contacted Casey Neistat with regards to collaborating with his new 368 daily vlog, and got a meeting with Casey due to his creative way of asking for it.

Patreon is a network that aims to empower the creators through their following. So if you like someone's videos on YouTube and they are part of the Patreon network, you can subscribe monthly and partly fund their creative executions. Or as creator, you can actually make a living off of what you create.

Casey Neistat hasn't quite defined what they will do with the channel and made it clear that they will find the business model at a later stage. However, he did reiterate that the studio he rented will be a space for producing work and collaboration. Here he responds to the video Jack Conte shared:

What I think is worth paying attention to is the creative way the request was sent for the meeting, the creative editing of the video and the way Casey responded. I think it might be a great move for Patreon, and might play a role in the production facility Casey Neistat is setting up.

I have no idea who Casey Neistat is, but man his face looks punchable.

probably the most successful creative and youtuber of the last decade.

Like Kim Kardashian is one of the top Instagramer's?

if you wish to put it that way, yes. exactly like that. except he doesn't use his body to draw attention. He actually creates content. up to you if you find it interesting or not. Maybe you like the kardashian's content which means most likely you won't find anything Casey does interesting.

Okay. I consume tons of "content" and I've never seen this guy before or heard his name associated with any film, photograph, song, video game, literature, journalism or anything like that. I would definitely remember that face.

if you're looking for a content creator that goes beyond the creative video and photography world, try Graham Hancock. guy has very interesting theories about the beginning of civilization, spiritualism and other very interesting topics.
He goes way beyond literature and journalism.

Thank you! That sounds more up my alley!

I watched a couple of videos, and man does the younger generation need better idols. How much self-indulgent, new agey/business junk do people need?

If you dig Casey, you'll love Gary Vee (Vayernchuk). I'm with you. I have no idea how these people get such vast cult followings.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. You can love or hate Casey, but the guy very likely works harder than anyone here. His work ethic makes me sick with envy.

You may very well be right. A lot of terrible people were really hard workers, namely narcissists, psychopaths, sociopaths, all very driven types of people.

Just watch this video, if your opinion still doesn't change based simply off the guys face. Then I don't think there's anything to change your mind.

Yeah! People who work hard for their goals suck! /sar

Sometimes. Depends on the goal.

So what was your point? You don't know who Neistat is yet you're making character judgements because he's a hard worker? Most people seem to understand that you can admire someone's work ethic without needing to agree with their goals. There's also garbage humans who don't work hard for anything but it really has no value in any discusion because it's use would be a generalization.

FYI Casey, it's "pique" a man's interest.

I find it hard to believe that this wasn't scripted.

I sure like how that gentleman creates a story so compelling. The editing is off the charts from my perspective. YEA for this post, YEA for FS

and Casey is making millions doing it on youtube.

Like him or loathe him, you have to admire how well he's done...

very true.
