SmugMug just recently released its 16th film and this time they're featuring mountain sports photographer Blake Jorgenson, with a glimpse into his relentless pursuit of capturing the perfect moment in extreme conditions.
When starting out, Jorgenson was drawn to adventure action sports photography because it fit perfectly into his passion for skiing and the lifestyle that comes along with it by pushing him further. At the age of 18 he moved to Whistler, B.C. in search of adventure. A couple years later his work started getting published, and by age 23, he was already shooting full time. He now works for major companies such as Adidas, Nike, Columbia, Patagonia, The North Face, and Under Armour.
In “The Cold Open,” Jorgenson talks about the extreme patience you must have while waiting for the perfect day that rarely comes, and the constant changes you have to deal with when it does. It’s within fleeting moments that the perfect shot comes though.
It’s worth it to take a look at Jorgenson's beautiful website to appreciate his epic style of photography. You can also view his work on his Facebook and Instagram.
