Photo critiques are back! Show us your best photographs of babies.

For the last 5 months, I've been back in the states waiting on my son to arrive. Nolan Morris (in the cover photo at 2 weeks old) is now 2 months old and I need to do another photo session with him but I need some inspiration. He's still unable to sit up on his own which makes posing him quite difficult. I'd love to see what professional baby photographers are capable of.

Each photographer is allowed to upload 3 different images. Make sure to give a few details in the description so that we can talk about how the photo was planned and lit during the video critique. The highest-rated image and one random image will win a free tutorial from the Fstoppers Store

Has the E-commerce been judged yet? I don't think I can contribute to this critique until the last one has been finalised.

The Hat Mask Clips? Yes I posted the "results" the submissions were worse than me 20 minute mockup so nobody "won" but I gave everyone a tutorial who entered.

Think he means the previous contest that never got a critique, "E-Commerce".

I believe he means the "E-commerce contest"- posted on 15th of December, 2020. 5.5 months ago. Which hasn't been critiqued yet.

Sorry Lee, I wasn't even aware of the Hat Clip one, I have been waiting patiently for the results of the E-commerce competition. Congratulations on the birth of Nolan, a magical (and sleepless) moment...

Congrats, Lee!

Congratulations, Lee! He is absolutely adorable .

Congratulations Lee!

Capture those tiny hands and feet while they are still small. Capture the bumps on the skin and the chubby arms and legs. Think about bringing in meaningful props that help represent the parents. Perhaps have the baby lie on flags or sports team shirts or blankets that may have been gifted. Wrap up your baby in a cocoon in that blanket too. Pose your little one how they feel comfortable - they may like to sleep on one side, but not the other.

Winners have not yet been announced.

My wife and I just had our first kid and I'm now trying to learn newborn photography. A lot tougher than I would have thought! This is kinda fun to get ideas for future attempts with our little one.

Voting already closed? Bad luck for those who entered the contest late.
Sadly, most of the images are bad.

well.. the previous contest hasn't even been critiqued yet. And this contest area has been dead for 5.5 months. (with the exception of the hat-clip thing, that had 4 entries... and ended up with no-one really winning because of that)

hardly anyone probably even knew about this particular critique because of that.

Also not helped by them moving it all over to the "fstoppers live" channel, with barely any subscribers and watchers. Averaging 5k views on the videos. Where most previous critique videos are on 50k.

- Less reach,
- no announcement,
- after 5.5 months of radio silence.,
resulting in the least amount of entries, since.. ever?.. (Or baby photography has to be the biggest niche ever, which I kinda doubt.)

I understand these are weird times.
And obviously some time off is expected with a baby.
But I am kinda surprised, since this online platform, probably a market/platform that had a somewhat low or manageable impact by the covid situation, as online content creating is do-able from a home-working environment, (And I hardly consider copy/pasting links to YouTube videos "content")
And with some creative thinking, they maybe could have kept this going in the last few months, with some changes to the format, given that they're not together.

I hope the critique the "E-commerce" one also! I miss watching these...

Congratulations Lee
