The log house that this shoot took place in had one good window for good light and it happened to be a small one in the nursery. A Sigma 35 1.4 was used for the small dark room. The window had a white curtain that allowed softer light hitting dad and newborn baby.

The pose, lighting and expressions are great, I find the background really distracting. Perhaps if the curtains on the right were removed, it would highly improve. The dad has a nice body, it would look nice to see some skin - he could show off his tattoos too. The baby blanket has nice textures
