If you want to submit to the next contest, the theme is "On-Location Flash" photography and you can enter up to 3 images. This Critique the Community will run from now until the end of February 2025.

For our final contest of 2025, we want to see your favorite images that you captured this year. Please remember to add details in the description of each image to let us know how it was conceived, shot, lit, edited, and anything else the viewer may find interesting.

Some excellent images in this one.
Man! There are a lot of could be fantastic photos in this contest. Just a small suggestion to all of the landscape photographers out there. STOP shooting so wide. Lots of could be great photos that are just lacking a subject because it’s shot so wide. If you’re going to shoot wide, find a foreground. And if you’re going to shoot a famous place make sure people can notice it. Don’t shoot it so wide that you can’t tell what it is unless you already know what it is. Just my 2 cents. Although, they stopped making Pennie’s so maybe my 5 cents? Who cares, no one will read this anyway.
I guess some "one(s)" will read this.
I've got a nickel to throw into the pot. But as a devil's advocate, in this case, sometimes wide and vast is the story the photographer wants to tell, expressing their awe of the landscape, and wishing to share that experience.
Of course, I have two images sitting here on my computer I am thinking of entering shot pretty wide and vast...just so many great images entered, I'm a little overwhelmed by the competition and therefore hesitant.
Hey Frank, you’re overthinking it. You really have nothing to lose — maybe just a small bruise to the ego. Photography matters, and at the same time, it doesn’t. Keep that in mind. Looking forward to your submission ☺️

No bruising here...I was just reiterating the strengths of the images being presented in this month's contest...I think there are many really great images, but it's a "Show us your best!" Contest, who could expect any less!
They don’t choose the top ones according to the community, they choose the ones they like so it is a matter of taste. So wha; if we don’t get picked, so what; if we don’t get the higher scores? Photograph what you like, take your own journey and do it for yourself. We are all trying to improve in our own individual persue.

I purposefully don't vote on images from genre's that I don't care for or capture.

It's coming guys. The last few weeks have been a bit insane with the holidays, travel, and I'm 40 days into the baby life. Sorry about that, Feb is going to be launched early to make up for it.
