Check Out This Amazing DIY Pond for Filming Wildlife

One of the most difficult aspects of wildlife and bird photography is finding your subjects and having the patience to wait for them to come into position in frame. So, what if you could make your own spot that you knew would attract wildlife? This photographer and filmmaker designed and built his own pond for bird and wildlife photography, and this awesome video shows the location and the beautiful footage he gets there.

Coming to you from Stefano Ianiro, this awesome video shows you the sort of footage he is able to get at his custom-built wildlife pond. It is really interesting to see how carefully thought-out the design of the pond is. Ianiro did not just dig out a hole and fill it, but rather, he designed the area specifically to attract wildlife and birds. And it is quite evident how effective the layout and location are, as you can see a huge variety of birds and animals. It is certainly convenient to have a location you know will always have an abundance of subjects, and I am sure it is exciting to see the fruits of one's labor not only bring photographic opportunities, but a habitat for animals. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Ianiro.

What a story! What an achievement, what a guy. Utterly brilliant, bringing nature to you. I’ve built two much smaller ponds in my own urban garden and it’s amazing how quickly wildlife both large and small moves in. I just wish we had such diversity of species. Plus what a lovely film.

This is outstanding, Well Done, like a Mini Geo video, Great Concept.
