The most prominent difference is the price, as the Mavic Mini sits at half the price of the Mavic Air 2. And while you get more with the Mavic Air 2, the headline feature of the Mavic Mini remains its size. Since it weighs just 8.8 oz (249 g), it comes in just under the registration limit for the FAA and is remarkably portable as well, and half the fun of a drone is being able to carry it everywhere with you and send it up whenever you encounter an interesting place (as long as you're following regulations, of course).
