Become a Better iPhone 7 Photographer With Latest Videos from Apple

With the availability of cameras in mobile phones and the ever-growing presence on social media, a lot more people are taking photos of all sorts of theses. The quality of the cameras have improved over the years, so much so that there has been some professional photoshoots done completely using the camera on their phones.

I think one of the most important aspects of photography is lighting and how to use it. Any camera can be used to take great photos. One of the best phones out there for mobile photography is the iPhone 7 Plus, and if you are looking to improve your iPhoneography skills, you are in luck. Apple has released a series of videos on their How to Shoot on iPhone 7 page, all under a minute with some quick tips on how to shoot on your iPhone 7. There's a few focusing on shooting great portraits on your iPhone 7 Plus with their new portrait mode.

Videos in the series:

  • How to shoot a great portrait
  • How to shoot a close-up
  • How to shoot a vertical panorama
  • How to shoot without a flash
  • How to shoot action
  • How to a selfie with the time
  • How to capture a unique angle
  • How to shoot stills while filming
  • How to shoot with street light
  • How to shoot a bold and simple image
  • How to shoot during golden hour
  • How to shoot a one-handed selfie
  • How to edit a selfie
  • How to shoot a sunset silhouette
  • How to shoot a group portrait
  • How to shoot a backlit subject

There are quite a bit of videos already on their page with five of those currently in their YouTube channel’s playlist. I'm sure the rest of the videos will make their way to YouTube. I won’t be surprised if this list grows with even more quick videos to help improve your iPhonegraphy skills. These videos are quick and simple, and very helpful to those who don't often use the camera features or have the time to learn. It doesn’t only apply to iPhones, even if these are aimed directly for their users, some of the videos can be applied to some of the other great camera phones out there or even DSLRs. If you have a few minutes, you can watch these videos and see if there are any helpful tips to improve your photo snapping skills.

I think it's awesome that Apple is promoting this. It's too often people think that they need prosumer cameras to produce good pictures. There's no reason why everyone who's interested in photography can't start with their phone.
